I recently purchased, the Estee Lauder Double Wear Makeup To Go compact (RTP : S$68).
Funny story though, I was walking around Robinson's with the intention of buying to try it out and see if I can look as good as Kendall Jenner (never) simply because I had a gift card which I hadn't used. So I strode up to the counter lady at Estee Lauder and said, "please give me one compact, help me choose my shade and please get me a receipt so I can pay at the counter by my gift card". So having gotten my receipt, I walked rather happily and confidently to the cashier only to realize that my gift card was empty, having expired which was heartbreaking I tell you. So not wanting to embarrass myself and return empty handed to the lady when she was so helpful, I whipped out my credit card all the while cringing at the thought of using it so flippantly. Damn my pride though I did fulfill my original intention.
Anyway moving on, I have to say I've never tried the original Double Wear Foundation given that most of the reviews on MakeupAlley states that it is not very suitable for dry skin which I do have once in a while, so I always gave it a miss. However, the new compact version is supposedly geared for drier skin types which is great for me. In theory that is.
After trying :
I have to say at the current moment I am not a fan of it. I don't see the supposed gearing towards drier skin types and I honestly think the sponge is not very suitable for applications, cause it keeps soaking up the foundation.
I would try again though, with either my fingers, beauty blender or a brush because the price tag was a little painful for me, being a student and all. So hopefully it might work next time round, we shall see..
I do like the packaging, it is sturdy and easy to tote around. I also do like the idea of a button to press for dispensing foundation and it is great that the dispensed amount isn't too much making it less of a waste as compared to normal liquid foundations where maybe half a bottle is wasted every single time you pour it out on your hand to apply (haha). I wonder about the hygiene factor though.
* edit : applying with fingers gives much more better results than with the sponge, giving a slightly dewy moist appearance.
Best I can say is that it's light-medium coverage but still recommended for natural looks!

Update : Wore it for roughly 12hours and the lasting power was meh given the weather was horrendous today, there was some fading and a little clinging to dry patches.
Will I repurchase?
No, I wouldn't repurchase it.
I would use this up, I like it enough for that.
